Joseph Cechini continued his cross-country season with a solid performance at the Georgetown Prep Cross-Country Classic in Maryland. Representing Mercersburg Academy, Cechini competed in the highly competitive Men's 5,000 Meters Unseeded Varsity race.
The young runner finished in 17th place, crossing the finish line in a time of 19 minutes and 14.9 seconds. The field included a number of talented athletes, and Cechini's top-20 finish is a promising start to the season for the Mercersburg team.
The event, hosted at the Georgetown Prep facility, saw hundreds of athletes from schools across the region take to the course. Cechini's result demonstrates his early-season fitness and sets a strong benchmark for his upcoming races.
Mercersburg Academy will be looking to build on their individual performances as they prepare for the core of their cross-country season.
