Jake Brislane and Teresa Ruiz have taken the top honours at the Swans Labour Day 5K Road Race, marking the start of the 2025/26 road running season. Nicolás Gómez Caines and Vivienne Fox were crowned the Male and Female Junior 2.65K champions.
Brislane dominated the Men's 5K, setting a blistering pace to finish first in 14:21.10. Kallan Richardson secured second place with a time of 15:42.40, followed by Dennis Mbelenzi in third at 15:50.48.
Ruiz, finishing eighth overall, claimed the women's title with a time of 18:45.24. Stepanka Sprincova came in second for the women and ninth overall, clocking 19:08.23. Laurie Orchard completed the women's podium, finishing 24th overall in 21:30.41.
In the Junior 2.65K race, Gómez Caines led the boys with a winning time of 10:36.30. George Morris finished second in 11:10.60, and Joshua Cann took third place in 12:15.31.
Fox was the fastest girl and sixth overall, finishing in 12:52.61. Nora Cenzer was the second female finisher and seventh overall, clocking 13:17.99, while Nola Thatcher finished third among the girls and ninth overall in 14:11.76.
