Bermuda's Olympian Jack Harvey has once again broken his own national record, this time in the prestigious WCH Arena in Singapore at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.
Competing in the Men's 50m Backstroke, Harvey, swimming in Heat 4, touched the wall in a new Bermuda Long Course record time of 25.55 seconds. His performance shaved a significant amount off his previous record of 25.89, which he set at the Atlanta Classic Swim Meet on May 16, 2024. This new record follows an even faster swim of 25.21 seconds earlier this year in Fort Lauderdale, although it appears this record was not ratified.
Harvey's new personal best saw him finish 7th in his heat and 40th overall in the fiercely competitive field. Despite not advancing to the semi-finals, the new record is a testament to the Bermudian swimmer's continued improvement on the world stage.
