Bermuda Pacers Shine Bright Medals Galore at Invitational

The Bermuda Pacers Track Club concluded an exceptional showing at the 2025 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational in Durham, North Carolina, with a remarkable haul of medals on the final day of competition. The young Bermudian contingent demonstrated impressive talent and dedication across various track and field disciplines, leaving their mark on the international stage.

The Gold rush for the Pacers was led by some truly standout performances:

In the Girls Long Jump 8 & Under Division, Raelyn Robinson soared to victory with a winning leap of 3.15m (10 feet 4.00 inches). Not to be outdone, Ajani Trott dominated the Boys Long Jump 11-12 Division, claiming gold with an impressive jump of 4.58m (15 feet 0.50 inches).

On the track, Naomi MacGuinness delivered a superb run to win the Girls 800m 11-12 Division in a time of 2:28.61. The sprint events saw Jadon Lightbourne claim a magnificent double, taking gold in both the Boys 100m 11-12 Division Finals with a blistering 12.11, and the Boys 200m 11-12 Division Finals in 25.96.

The medals kept coming for the Pacers, with several athletes securing podium finishes:

Elliott Davidge secured a Silver Medal in the Boys 800m 8 & Under Division with a time of 2:48.40.
In the Girls Long Jump 9-10 Division, Giselle Reid-Rubane leaped to a Bronze Medal, measuring 3.65m (11 feet 11.75 inches).
Ajani Trott added a Bronze to his Gold, finishing third in the Boys 400m 11-12 Division with a time of 1:01.44.
The Girls 4x400m (13-14 Division) relay team of S. Jobson, R. Robinson, E. Bortoli, and Z. Scott proudly claimed Bronze with a time of 4:20.36.

While not reaching the podium, several other Bermuda Pacers athletes delivered strong performances, showcasing the depth of talent within the club. These included Jemani Scott (4th in Boys 800m 11-12 and 6th in Boys 400m 11-12), Timothy Pearman (4th in Boys 400m 13-14), Ava St. Luce (5th in Girls 100m 11-12), Riana Robinson (6th in Girls 800m 13-14), Tobiah Goodchild (7th in Boys 800m 15-16), Giselle Reid-Rubane (8th in Girls 100m 9-10), Sukanya Jobson (10th in Girls 400m 13-14), and Elena Bortoli (12th in Girls 800m 13-14).

The Bermuda Pacers Track Club's performance at the Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational highlights the promising future of athletics in Bermuda, with these young athletes demonstrating their potential on a significant regional stage.
