A cohort of eight promising Bermudian track and field athletes are currently immersed in a high-performance training camp in Paraguay, aiming to sharpen their skills and prepare for top-level competition under the guidance of experienced coaches Syriah Lottimore and Albert Donawa.
The intensive camp, running from July 13th to 18th, is designed to provide a "high-performance environment to sharpen skills, strengthen focus and prepare for the demands of top-level competition," according to the Bermuda Olympic Association. This initiative is particularly timely, given that Asunción, Paraguay, will host the Junior Pan American Games in August.
The Bermudian athletes participating in this valuable overseas training include: Tatiana Sousa Surii Russell Jaeda Grant Miles Outerbridge Norre Robinson Zydon Lightbourne-Furbert Amara Samuels Lashee Jones
Coaches Syriah Lottimore, a former collegiate athlete with extensive track and field experience, and Albert Donawa, a seasoned figure in Bermudian athletics, are overseeing the rigorous programme. Their expertise will be crucial in maximising the development of these young talents as they push towards their athletic goals.
The camp represents a significant investment in the future of Bermudian track and field, offering these athletes a unique opportunity to train alongside international peers and gain exposure to the demands of elite-level preparation.
