Bermuda's Katherine Bean-Rosario and her Leeward Islands Under-19 teammates experienced a frustrating day at the West Indies Rising Stars Women's Under-19 Championships today, as their second match of the tournament was abandoned without a single ball bowled due to persistent wet weather.
The team was due to face their opponents at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, Trinidad. However, hopes of play were dashed as the region was hit by late morning showers, which then escalated into a series of thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. The conditions rendered the outfield unplayable, forcing the match officials to call off the fixture.
The abandonment will be a disappointment for Bean-Rosario and the Leeward Islands squad, after their first match was halted due to rain.
