Cricket Weekend Delivers Century Feasts & Six-Wicket Hauls

Deunte Darrell
IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Cricket Board's 50-over Premier and First Division seasons, alongside Western and Junior Eastern County action, delivered a spectacular weekend of cricket across the island. The runs flowed freely, with several teams surpassing the 300-run mark, four individual centuries recorded, and three bowlers claiming impressive six-wicket hauls.

Batting Brilliance: Four Centuries Light Up the Weekend

The batting performances were truly exceptional, led by Zachary Edmund of the St. George's Cricket Club. Edmund smashed a magnificent 120 runs from just 100 balls, including 9 fours and 7 sixes, setting a high standard for the weekend's scoring.

Close behind him was Deunte Darrell from Willow Cuts, who contributed a powerful 115 runs off 75 balls, featuring 10 fours and 8 sixes in his team's Western County Cup defence.

Two other batsmen reached the three-figure milestone with identical scores of 107. Amari Ebbin of Somerset Cricket Club continued his fine form, hitting 16 fours and 2 sixes in his 90-ball century. Drewonde Bascombe from Devonshire Recreation Club also notched up 107 runs, with 12 fours and 5 sixes, leading his side to a massive total.

The depth of scoring was further highlighted by Delray Rawlins of Bailey's Bay, who fell just shy of a century with a blistering 94 off 56 balls, showcasing his explosive power with 9 fours and 5 sixes.

Bowling Masterclasses: Three Six-Wicket Hauls

Not to be outdone by the batsmen, the bowlers also produced some stunning performances, with three individuals claiming six-wicket hauls.

Michael Agard from Bailey's Bay led the pack with exceptional figures of 6 wickets for just 12 runs from 7 overs, including one maiden. His spell dismantled the Flatts Victoria batting lineup.

Azar Morrissey of the Somerset Cricket Club was equally devastating, returning figures of 6 wickets for 16 runs from 5.4 overs, including one maiden, contributing significantly to his team's comprehensive victory over Cleveland County.

Rounding out the trio of six-wicket heroes was Jonte Smith from the St. George's Cricket Club, who claimed 6 wickets for 34 runs from 8 overs, including two maidens, securing a massive win for his club.

These outstanding individual performances, both with bat and ball, underscore the competitive and high-quality nature of club cricket in Bermuda across all divisions.
