Bermudian junior golfers Oliver Betschart and Sienna Mosquera continued their campaigns today at the prestigious North & South Junior Amateur Championship at Pinehurst, North Carolina. The young talents had the unique experience of playing at the same venue where Tiger Woods was on hand, watching his son Charlie compete in the Championship.
In the Boy's Field, Oliver Betschart showed improvement in his second round, carding a two-over-par 74. This performance moved him to 11-over-par for the tournament, placing him in a tie for 57th position. His second round scorecard included three birdies and ten pars, but these were unfortunately offset by five bogeys.
Meanwhile, in the Girls' Field, Sienna Mosquera finished her second round tied for 49th at thirteen-over par. Her second round of eight-over-par 81 featured four birdies and six pars, alongside four bogeys and four double bogeys.
Both young Bermudian talents are gaining invaluable experience competing on a grand stage at Pinehurst, a venue steeped in golfing history. Their resilience will be tested as they continue their pursuit in one of junior golf's most significant events.
