St. George’s Cricket Club Won by 30 Runs

The St. George’s Cricket Club successfully defended their Premier Division T20 Knock-Out title, securing a 30-run victory over Bailey’s Bay.

Batting first after winning the toss, St. George's posted a challenging total of 179 for 6. The innings was spearheaded by an explosive knock from Macci Simmons, who was the top scorer with 58 runs off just 26 balls, a remarkable innings featuring 11 fours and 2 sixes. Michael Agard was the pick of the Bailey’s Bay bowlers, claiming 2 wickets for 22 runs from his 4 overs.

In reply, Bailey’s Bay found the target a step too far and were restricted to 149 for 8. Jarryd Richardson was their top scorer with 41. The St. George’s bowling attack was led effectively by Zeko Burgess, who returned impressive figures of 2 wickets for just 20 runs from his 4 overs, helping to seal the victory for his side.

The Southampton Rangers were crowned the First Division T20 Knock-Out Champions after a dominant 116-run victory over Western Stars at the same venue.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Southampton Rangers unleashed a formidable display of power hitting, amassing 190 for 2 in their allotted overs. The innings was built on an unbroken partnership between Dion Stovell and Dalin Richardson. Stovell was the top scorer with an unbeaten 80 runs off 57 balls, featuring 8 fours and 3 sixes. He was brilliantly supported by Richardson, who blasted 69 not out off just 27 balls, an innings highlighted by 1 four and 7 towering sixes. Rohan Davis managed to pick up 1 wicket for 14 runs for Western Stars.

In response, Western Stars struggled against a disciplined Rangers bowling attack and were bowled out for just 74. Brian Hall was the top scorer for Western Stars with 22. The chief destroyer with the ball for the Southampton Rangers was none other than Dion Stovell, who completed a superb all-round performance by taking 3 wickets for a mere 3 runs from just 2.4 overs, including one maiden, to wrap up a comprehensive victory and the championship title for the Rangers.
