Bermudian Paralympian and current Female Athlete of the Year Boccia star Yushae DeSilva-Andrade has made a sensational start to the Poznan 2025 World Boccia Challenger in Poland, winning her opening four matches and asserting her dominance at the top of Pool A in the BC1 women’s division.
DeSilva-Andrade, a prominent figure in international Boccia and currently ranked among the world's top BC1 female athletes, showcased her exceptional precision and tactical prowess from the outset. She began her campaign with a convincing 12-5 victory over Buket Sema Demirtas of Turkey, setting a strong tone for her tournament.
She then continued her winning ways, beating Slovakian Daniela Drotarova with a confident 4-1 scoreline, further solidifying her position in the pool. In her third-round match, the Bermudian triumphed emphatically, securing a decisive 7-0 win over Anna Vacková of the Czech Republic. DeSilva-Andrade then received a bye in round four, maintaining her perfect record.
Her flawless performance thus far underscores her strong preparation and determination to perform at the highest level. DeSilva-Andrade will now look to carry this incredible momentum into the knockout stages as she aims for a podium finish at this crucial World Boccia Challenger event.
