Bermuda Finish Runners-Up in T20 Americas Qualifiers

IslandStats.com
Bermuda has concluded their campaign in the ICC Men's T20 Americas Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, finishing in a respectable second place on net run rate, level on points with the Cayman Islands with a 3 wins and 3 losses record. While the ultimate goal of World Cup qualification was not achieved, the team showed flashes of strong performance throughout the tournament.

Looking at the individual contributions, Delray Rawlins was the undeniable standout with the bat, leading the team's total scoring with an impressive 200 runs. His consistency was highlighted by two of the biggest individual knocks of the tournament for Bermuda – a formidable 70, and an unbeaten 68. Onias Bascome also made a significant impact with 146 runs to his name, while Tre Manders contributed a valuable 73 runs, including a well-played 69 in one of the crucial matches.

In the bowling department, Bermuda's attack was spearheaded by Dominic Sabir and Derrick Brangman, both of whom claimed 6 wickets each, demonstrating their effectiveness in restricting opposition batsmen. Chare Smith also made a key contribution, picking up a total of 5 wickets throughout the qualifiers.

In the field, Zeko Burgess proved to be the safest pair of hands, holding onto 4 catches. He was supported by Sinclair Smith, Terryn Fray, Onias Bascome, and Delray Rawlins, who each took 2 catches, showcasing the team's all-round commitment in the field.

While the World Cup dream will have to wait, Bermuda's performance in the Americas Regional Final offered promising individual displays and a competitive spirit, finishing strongly as one of the top sides in the region.
