Central County defending champions Devonshire Recreation Club began their title defence in emphatic fashion at their home ground, overcoming North Village by 121 runs in a high-scoring encounter.
After North Village won the toss and elected to send the hosts in to bat, Devonshire Recreation Club put on a formidable batting performance, posting a daunting total of 318 before being bowled out.
