Day Two of the 2025 Bermuda National Track & Field Championships brought more compelling action to the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center. The Bermuda National Athletics Association's event saw a mix of thrilling sprint finishes and impressive long-distance performances.
In the Under 20 Men’s 3000 Meter Run, Jake Smith demonstrated his endurance, clocking a winning time of 9 minutes, 47.61 seconds (9:47.61).
The Men’s 100 Meter Dash Open proved to be a highlight, with Suresh Black claiming victory in a swift 10.81 seconds. Saj Carey secured the runner-up spot with a time of 11.40. Black is a known talent in Bermudian sprinting, having competed internationally in the 100m and 200m.
The younger athletes also showcased their burgeoning talent in the 400-meter events. In the Under 12 Boys 400 Meter Dash, Jemani Scott emerged victorious, stopping the clock at 1:02.65. Ajani Trott was close behind in second with 1:03.14, and Antoine Whitter finished third in 1:05.04.
The Under 17 Boy’s 400 Meter Dash saw a competitive race, with Zydon Lightbourne Furbert taking the top spot in 50.32 seconds. Surii Russell was a strong second in 50.62, while Nazir Johnson rounded out the podium with a time of 55.63.
The championships continue to highlight the depth of talent within Bermudian athletics, from promising youth to established senior competitors.
