Track & Field Nationals Kick Off with Strong Performances

Day One of the 2025 Bermuda National Track & Field Championships brought an exciting start to the competition at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center. Hosted by the Bermuda National Athletics Association, the event saw athletes across various age groups deliver impressive performances.

The endurance events set an early tone for the championships. In the Under 12 Women’s 3000 Meter Run, Naomi Macguinness showcased her promising talent, clocking a winning time of 10 minutes, 56.80 seconds (10:56.80). Following closely, in the Under 14 Women’s 3000 Meter Run, Riana Robinson crossed the line first in 11:53.40, with Aaliy Williams Chalmers securing second place in 13:04.18.

On the sprint side, Caitlyn Bobb delivered a dominant performance in the Women’s Open 400 Meter Dash. Bobb ran to victory with a time of 53.46 seconds, well ahead of Amaris Munya (1:00.09) in second and Kelise Wade (1:00.66) in third.

The next generation of male sprinters also impressed. In the Under 20 Men’s 100 Meter Dash, Norre Robinson claimed the win with a swift 10.80 seconds. Preston Ephraim III finished second in 11.32, and Kyah Richardson rounded out the podium with 11.43 seconds.

In the field events, Olympian Jah-Nhai Perinchief demonstrated his prowess in the Men’s Open Triple Jump, securing the victory with a top leap of 15.83 meters. Meanwhile, on the track, Cameron Adkins took top honours in the Under 17 Men’s 3000 Meter Run, clocking a winning time of 9:24.24.

Day one has set a high standard, with more thrilling action expected as the Bermuda National Track & Field Championships continue.
