The Bermuda Football Association's Under 23 Summer League Division continued with a captivating double-header last night at the BAA Field, delivering a mixed bag of results that included a feisty draw and a decisive victory.
Devonshire Colts 1 Robin Hood 1
The opening match saw Devonshire Colts and Robin Hood battle to a 1-1 draw, in a game that saw both sides finish with ten men.
The Colts took an early lead in the 13th minute through a goal from Nijae Aberdeen. The complexion of the game shifted dramatically in the 22nd minute when Robin Hood's Chance Eve was shown a red card, reducing his team to ten men. However, just four minutes later, Devonshire Colts also found themselves a man down when Keino Burch received a red card, evening up the numbers on the pitch.
The Colts held onto their 1-0 lead going into the break. The second half was a hard-fought affair, with Hayden Dill converting a penalty in the 71st minute to draw Robin Hood level, ultimately seeing the points shared.
North Village Rams 0 FC Bascome 3
In the nightcap, FC Bascome put on a dominant display to defeat the North Village Rams 3-0.
Ben Osset opened the scoring for FC Bascome in the 27th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead at half-time. Osset continued his impressive performance in the second half, doubling FC Bascome's lead in the 56th minute with his second goal of the game. Riley Robinson then put the result beyond doubt in the 77th minute, extending FC Bascome's advantage to 3-0 and securing a comprehensive victory.
The results from these two matches further shape the U23 Division standings as teams continue their quest for silverware.
