Bermuda Maintain Momentum with Rain-Affected Victory

IslandStats.com
Bermuda Won by 26 Runs

Bermuda 114/6 Bahamas 88/2

Bermuda continued their strong showing in the ICC Men's T20 Americas Cricket World Cup Qualifier, securing a rain-shortened 26-run victory over the Bahamas. The win sees Bermuda improve their record to three wins from four matches in the tournament.

The match at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground was reduced to nine overs per side due to persistent rain. After winning the toss, the Bahamas opted to bowl first, a decision they might have re-evaluated as Bermuda posted a challenging total of 114 for 6 in their allotted overs.

The cornerstone of Bermuda's innings was a magnificent display from Delray Rawlins, who batted through the entire nine overs. Rawlins smashed an unbeaten 68 off just 32 deliveries, an explosive knock that included three fours and seven towering sixes. Marc Taylor was the pick of the Bahamian bowlers, returning figures of 2-0-19-2.

In reply, Bermuda's bowlers once again demonstrated their discipline, maintaining tight lines and lengths to restrict the Bahamas. They successfully contained their opponents to 88 for 2 in their nine overs, falling 26 runs short of the target. Gregory Taylor was the top scorer for the Bahamas with an unbeaten 56. For Bermuda, Derrick Brangman was the standout bowler, taking 1 wicket for 23 runs from his two overs.

This crucial victory keeps Bermuda firmly in contention as the tournament progresses.
