Bermuda secured their first victory in the ICC Men's T20 CWC Qualifier - Americas 2025, defeating the Bahamas by seven wickets in their second match at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club Ground in Canada.

Bahamas 90/8 Bermuda 91/3

Both teams entered the contest looking to open their account in the qualifiers after suffering defeats in their respective opening matches.

The Bahamas won the toss and elected to bat first, but they were effectively restricted by a disciplined Bermudian bowling attack. They could only manage 90 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, scoring at a rate of just 4.5 runs per over. Eugene Duff was the top scorer for the Bahamas with 31 runs. Chare Smith was the pick of the Bermuda bowlers, delivering an excellent spell to claim two wickets for just 11 runs from his four overs.

In reply, Bermuda wasted no time in chasing down the target, scoring 91 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in just 9.5 overs. Onias Bascome led the charge with an explosive innings, top-scoring with 43 runs off only 20 balls, an innings that included 2 fours and 5 towering sixes. Festus Benn was the pick of the Bahamas bowlers, taking one wicket for 7 runs from 1.5 overs.

This dominant victory provided a significant boost to Bermuda's campaign in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers, putting them firmly back in contention after their opening loss to Canada.
