Sprinter Caitlyn Bobb enjoyed a sensational Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, culminating in a stunning gold medal victory in the Women's 400 meters.
Bobb, representing Virginia Tech, saved her best for the final, resetting both the program record and her own Bermuda National Record in the event. Just a day after setting a blistering 51.57 in the preliminaries, breaking the national record of 51.84 she set back in June 2022, Bobb went even faster in the final.
In a breathtaking display of speed and endurance, Bobb captured the individual title by over half a second, crossing the finish line in an astounding 51.11 seconds. This remarkable time shaved a further 0.46 seconds off the record she had set just 24 hours prior, underlining her exceptional form throughout the championships.
Bobb's dominant performance in the 400 meters, breaking records in both the preliminary and final rounds to secure the gold medal, will undoubtedly be a source of immense pride for Bermuda and a significant achievement in her burgeoning athletic career. Her performances at the ACC Championships mark her as a force to be reckoned with on the collegiate track and field scene.
