Shayla Cann has made a strong start to the postseason as she and her Elon University Women's Track and Field teammates began competition at the 2025 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event is being held at the Marcus T. Johnson Complex at North Carolina A&T.
Cann showcased her speed and endurance in the preliminary rounds of the Women's 800 meters. She ran an impressive race, clocking the second-fastest time in the preliminaries with a mark of 2 minutes and 10.87 seconds.
This strong performance secures Cann a place in the Women's 800m Final, where she will compete against the other top qualifiers for the conference title. Her excellent preliminary time suggests she is in good form and will be a contender in the final race. Cann will be aiming to build on this positive start and deliver a strong performance as she continues her campaign at the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
