Harrington Sound Retain Primary School Track & Field Crown

Harrington Sound Primary School successfully defended their title as Primary School Champions at the 2025 Track and Field Championships, held at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center.
The school amassed a total of 248 points to finish comfortably ahead of the competition. Saltus Grammar School secured second place with 215 points, while Warwick Academy claimed the third spot with 190.50 points.
Harrington Sound's victory was largely attributed to the impressive performance of their girls' team, who dominated their division with a commanding 175 points. Bermuda High School (BHS) finished a distant second in the Girls' Division with 109 points, followed by Saltus in third with 83 points. The Boys' overall title proved to be a much tighter contest, with Saltus Grammar School edging out Warwick Academy by the slimmest of margins – just one point. Saltus finished with 132 points, while Warwick Academy scored 131. Port Royal Primary finished third in the boys' division with 95.50 points.
The Toby Colombe award for excellence was jointly awarded to two outstanding athletes, Gisele Reid-Rubaine and Aalirah Daniels, both of whom collected an impressive four gold medals each throughout the championships.
Reid-Rubaine was a dominant force in the Under-9 Girls' Division, winning the overall Champion title. Representing Harrington Sound, Reid-Rubaine swept the sprinting events, securing Gold in the 100, 200, and 400 meters. She also played a key role in her school's victory in the 4x100-meter relay. Diamond Morris of Saltus Grammar finished second in this division with 22 points, winning the 800 meters and taking second in the 400 and fourth in the 200 meters. In the Under-9 Boys' Division, Nico Simmons from Dalton E. Tucker Primary also achieved a clean sweep in the sprints, winning the 100, 200, and 400 meters to claim the Champion Boy title. Harrington Sound’s Theodore Smith finished second, securing second place in the 100 and 200 meters and third in the 400 meters.
The Under-10 Girls' Champion title was shared by Kamari Brooks-Gibbons of Warwick Academy and Caeli-Grace Dixon from the Bermuda Institute. Brooks-Gibbons secured victories in the 800 meters and the long jump, finishing fifth in the 400 meters. Dixon earned her points with consistent second-place finishes in the 400 and 800 meters, as well as the Long Jump. Shammaah Darko was a standout performer on the track, winning the 100, 200, and 400-meter races in convincing fashion.
Harrington Sound’s Aalirah Daniels was equally impressive in the Over-10 Girls' Division, winning the champion girl title with victories in the 100, 200 meters, and the Long Jump. Her relay team's success also contributed to her four-gold medal haul. Yara Muhammad finished second, winning the 800 meters and taking second place in both the 200 and 400 meters. Dalton E. Tucker Primary once again topped the podium in the Over-10 Boys' Division, with Shanzae Smith claiming the champion boy title after winning Gold in the 200 and 400 meters and Silver in the 100 meters.
The 2025 Primary School Track and Field Championships showcased a wealth of young talent, with Harrington Sound Primary School emerging as the overall champions after a strong showing across all age groups. The individual successes and the close competition in both the team and individual standings point to a promising future for athletics in Bermuda.
