The 2025 Bermuda PowerBoat Association (BPBA) season burst into action at Ferry Reach today, with the roar of engines causing traffic congestion on the nearby causeway as fans flocked to witness the opening day's racing.
The first event of the season saw thrilling contests across the various classes, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting year on the water.
In the highly competitive A Class Heat One, the team of Shane Madeiros and Joshua Holder emerged victorious.
The B Class Heat One and Two saw Brandon DeSilva and Blake Burgess claim the top spot, demonstrating their speed and skill on the Ferry Reach course.
Jody Carreiro and Tony Carreiro powered their way to victory in Heat One in the C Class, showcasing their experience and boat handling prowess.
The D Class Heat One action saw Andrew Cortingham and Henry Talbot III take line honours as the first boat to cross the finish line. However, after the calculations, the overall win in the D Class was awarded to Howard Ascento and Edd Burrows.
The opening day's racing at Ferry Reach provided plenty of excitement for the enthusiastic crowds, and with several different winners across the classes, the 2025 Bermuda PowerBoat Association season looks set for a thrilling ride.
