Derbyshire CCC Under 18s secured a narrow three-run victory over Luke Fulton and his Repton School teammates in an entertaining friendly encounter.
Repton won the toss and elected to field, a decision which saw Derbyshire CCC Under 18s post a total of 120 for 8 in their 20 overs. Rubaiyat Abrar led the Derbyshire innings with a well-played 27 runs. Repton's Ben Hidderley proved to be the most effective bowler on the day, claiming three wickets for just 13 runs in his four-over spell (4-1-13-3). Fulton also contributed with the ball, taking one wicket for 15 runs in his four overs (4-0-15-1).
In response, Repton School fought hard but ultimately fell just short, finishing on 117 for 8 in their 20 overs. Danny Chapman top-scored for Repton with a fine innings of 54. Luke Fulton added 5 runs to the Repton total. Derbyshire's Rubaiyat Abrar capped off a strong individual performance by also starring with the ball, taking four crucial wickets for 19 runs (4-0-19-4).
