Devwah Whaley guided the Dresden Monarchs to the final of the German Football League for the second time in their club history and will play in the German Bowl on October 9th in Frankfurt.
Whaley scored 3 Touchdowns as the Monarchs, demonstrated their class and outstanding constitution with a 37 - 0 win against the Saarland Hurricanes, leaving no doubts about who was in charge of the house.
Number one touchdown in the fourth minute, Anthony Brooks completed after a pass from quarterback KJ Carta-Samuels.
Dresden doubled the lead, Darrell Stewart had a big play with a throw to, Radim Kalous who held onto a catch just before the end zone, and running back Whaley would score from 1 yard out making it 14 – 0.
The Dresden Monarchs, actually mainly about the passing game, had a slightly different idea for the match this time, as Whaley with a 4-yard touchdown run made it 21 - 0.
Carta-Samuels handed the ball to Devwah Whaley, who could not be stopped by the Saarbrücken defense and penetrated the end zone from 4 yards out again, and as usual, Florian Finke kicked the extra point and they led 28 - 0 at the break.
After the break, Robert Wilzeck got a safety, Brooks scored the fifth touchdown, for ten to advance to the final with a dominating performance.
Whaley would finish the game with 18 rushes for 139 yards, he would also have 4 catches for 14 yards.
