Zach Chappell's driving layup with 0.5 seconds left delivered David Patrick’s Sacramento State a thrilling 76 - 74 win over Long Beach State at the Nest.
It marked the second straight game Chappell has delivered in the final seconds. The senior guard also drove past defenders for a layup with two seconds left in the Hornets' 87-85 overtime win against Denver. It was his bucket with five second left in regulation in that game that forced overtime.
In both games, he scored a game-high 25 points and has been on a tear over the last four games. During that four-game spurt, he has two game winners and is averaging 22.5 points on 52% (30-58) shooting from the field, 48% (12-25) from the 3-point line, and 95% (18-19) from the charity stripe.
