A Bermuda Basketball Association National Select Team were back in action on their 2019 Montreal Tour.
The Bermuda team consisted of Steve Brown-Darrell, Adam Correia, Jaren Haley, Linden Jackson, Kameron James, Eric Lambert, Vernon Lambe III, Caelin Peters, Yusef Riley (Captain), Seward Smith took to the floor to face off against McGill University, the Bermuda team is being led by coach Gavin MacKenzie.
McGill defeated Bermuda 101 – 74.
McGill University welcomed back Riley who played for McGill in 2012-13, but that’s where the pleasantries ended as the Bermuda team struggled with the height of the McGill team.
Bermuda were outscored 24 – 11 in the First Quarter, McGill and Bermuda scored 27 points each in the Second Quarter for McGill taking a 51 – 38 lead at the break.
In the Third Quarter Bermuda scored only 15 points, while McGill scored 28 to lead 79 – 53 and then in the Final Quarter Bermuda scored 21 and McGill scored 22 points for the 27 point win.
The Bermuda team was out rebounded 56-23, Bermuda were led by Haley who scored 23 points, while Riley added 20 points and Jackson scored 16.
Riley would led the team on the boards grabbing 9, while Haley and Caelin Peters both grabbed 3 each.
Sam Jenkins would lead McGill with 20 points he was one of six players in double figures, Quarry Whyne grabbed 9 rebounds.
