Adam Hall and his Aberdeen IronBirds teammates fell for the first time this season as Wilmington edged them 6 - 5 in a High-A East Minor League Baseball game at the Frawley Stadium in Wilmington.
Wilmington took the lead in the bottom of the first when Armond Upshaw scored on a double by Jacob Rhinesmith.
Kyle Showers scored in the top of the second to level the score at 1 1, and then the top of the third saw Hall cross the plate to put Aberdeen ahead, Joseph Ortiz would add another run in the inning for Aberdeen to take a 3 1 lead.
Zach Watson would make it 4 1 in the top of the fifth before the game would change in the bottom half of the inning. Justin Connell scored to make it 4 2, but then Kyle Marinconz hit a home run to also score Rhinesmith, and Omar Meregildo to take a 5 4 lead.
Aberdeen would level the score at 5 5 in the top of the 7th when Andrew Martinez, but in the bottom of the 8th Marinconz scored what prove to be the winning run.
