One day after getting shut out, Adam Hall and his Delmarva Shorebirds teammates turned the tables on the Kannapolis Intimidators, breezing to a 3-0 win at Intimidators Stadium.
Delmarva led wire-to-wire thanks to a manufactured run in the first. Jean Carlos Encarnacion led off with a single and promptly stole second base. While dancing around second to distract Dominguez, Encarnacion forced the Kannapolis starter to balk and advanced to third. On the next pitch, Hall lifted one out to right field for a sacrifice fly, bringing Encarnacion in to put the Shorebirds up 1-0.
Hall found himself in the middle of things again in the third, beating out a two-out infield hit. Doran Turchin followed by slashing a double into the left center gap, scoring Hall to make it 2-0 Delmarva.
The Shorebirds got one more insurance run in the eighth. Alexis Torres reached on an error to lead off, and Encarnacion followed with a single to put two on. After a flyout and a walk to load the bases, Ben Breazeale tapped a swinging bunt up the first base line for an RBI groundout, giving the game its final margin.
Hall went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and his 40th run of the season.
