RedHawks edge Winnipeg Goldeyes despite late Didder Spark

IslandStats.com
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks built an early three-run cushion and held off a late push to defeat Adam Hall and the Winnipeg Goldeyes 3-1 at Newman Outdoor Field.

Infielder Hall finished 1-for-5 from the plate as Winnipeg struggled to convert opportunities, stranding multiple runners in four consecutive frames.

Fargo-Moorhead seized control with two outs in the second inning. Consecutive singles from Matt Kroon and Tucupita Marcano set the stage for Juan Fernández and Brian Fuentes, who each drove in runs with successive base hits. José Sermo extended the lead in the third, driving a two-out solo home run over the right-field wall.

Winnipeg applied steady pressure, placing at least two runners aboard in every inning from the third to the sixth, but RedHawks left-hander Parker Harm repeatedly escaped trouble. Harm scattered seven hits and four walks over six scoreless innings to claim the win.

The Goldeyes finally broke through in the seventh when Ray-Patrick Didder singled, stole second, advanced on a throwing error, and came home via Noah Marcelo’s groundout. The RBI was Marcelo's 90th of the campaign.

Fargo-Moorhead pitching: Harm (6-2) struck out four across six frames before Jon Beymer, Mason Pelio, and Tyler Jeans—who secured his 16th save—closed out the final three innings.

Winnipeg arms: Starter Landen Bourassa took the loss, allowing three runs on six hits with six strikeouts over six innings. Relievers James Colyer and Quinn Waterhouse combined for two perfect innings in relief.

Standout bats: Jiandido Tromp led Winnipeg with a 3-for-4 display, while Didder notched two hits, three stolen bases, and the Goldeyes' lone run.

Winnipeg were ultimately left to rue missed chances with runners on base as Fargo-Moorhead's bullpen closed the door in the ninth.
