Bermudian equestrian Tyler James enjoyed an exceptional fortnight of competition at Bruce’s Field in Aiken, South Carolina, claiming multiple victories and division honours across the Aiken Summerfest I & II Horse Shows.
Under the guidance of coach Wendy Arndt and Team I.E.C., James showcased his versatility and depth, securing top placings across several divisions aboard three different mounts.
Leading the way was James' burgeoning partnership with new mount Case Closed 441. The pair delivered a standout performance to open the festival, securing first place to claim the championship title in the 1.20m Junior/Amateur Jumper Division, before posting eighth and ninth-place finishes against an experienced field in the 1.25m Open Jumper Welcome Stake.
The combination reached another level in week two after stepping up to the bigger, more technical 1.30m classes. James and Case Closed 441 recorded:
1st place in the 1.30m Junior/Amateur Jumper class
2nd place in the 1.30m Junior/Amateur Classic
3rd place in the prestigious 1.30m National Junior/Amateur Classic
The transition into the 1.30m classic ranks represents a significant developmental milestone for the partnership, positioning the pair favourably for the remainder of the 2026 campaign.
James also maintained his winning momentum alongside long-term partner Vino Blanco 441. The duo captured top spot in the Open Hunter class and backed it up with two solid ninth-place finishes in the highly competitive USHJA National Hunter Derby classes.
Completing a clean sweep of positive results, James guided promising young horse Zero to Sixty to a pair of red ribbons, sealing victories in both the 0.90m Open Jumper and 1.0m Jumper classes.
