Bermudian standout Adam Hall and the Winnipeg Goldeyes blew open a tied game with a decisive five-run seventh inning to power past the Sioux Falls Canaries 12-6 at Blue Cross Park.
Coupled with the Kansas City Monarchs’ defeat to the Lake Country DockHounds, the high-scoring victory moves Winnipeg (43-33) into sole possession of first place in the American Association West Division.
Early Blows and Counter-Punches
The contest exploded into life from the outset. Sioux Falls took first blood in the top of the first when Grady Mee crossed on Michael Curialle’s sacrifice fly.
Winnipeg delivered an immediate four-run reply in the home half. Ray-Patrick Didder led off with a single before scoring on Ramón Bramasco’s base hit to right. Following a Noah Marcelo single, shortstop Keshawn Lynch cleared the bases with a two-run double to left—bringing home Marcelo and Hall—before later stealing third and scoring on an errant throw to make it 4-1.
The Canaries swung the momentum right back in the second frame when Mee launched a grand slam to left field, edging Sioux Falls into a 5-4 lead.
After TJ Racherbaumer extended the visitors' cushion to 6-4 in the fourth with an RBI double, the Goldeyes responded again. Didder sparked the rally with a single and scored when Hall drove an RBI base hit to left. Hall promptly stole second base and came home on Marcelo’s double to lock the scoreline at 6-6.
Seventh-Inning Explosion
The deadlock held until the bottom of the seventh, where Winnipeg's offense produced a game-winning burst.
Hall and Marcelo ignited the frame with back-to-back singles before executing a double steal. Under pressure, Canaries reliever Will Levine balked, allowing Hall to cross with the go-ahead run. Jiandido Tromp quickly made it 8-6 with an RBI single to score Marcelo.
Max Murphy kept the rally alive with a single before first baseman Kevin García delivered the hammer blow, launching a towering three-run home run to right field to blow the game open at 11-6.
Lynch capped a 16-hit offensive display in the eighth, driving in Bramasco with his second double of the night to seal the 12-6 victory.
