Bermuda’s junior squash stars enjoyed an exceptional opening weekend at the 2026 Nagico and Interpath Junior Caribbean Squash Championships, capturing four individual medals on the glass courts of Tortola.
The team, competing at the Tortola Sports Club in the British Virgin Islands, delivered a series of clinical performances to secure a gold, two silvers, and a bronze before the tournament pivots to the team events.
The headline performance came in the Boys Under-13 Division, which culminated in a spectacular all-Bermuda showcase match for regional glory.
Mason Smith deservingly claimed the Caribbean crown, but he had to do it the hard way against compatriot Benjamin Sherratt. Sherratt came out firing to snatch a tense opening game, but Smith wrestled back control with relentless depth and precision. Smith ultimately secured the title 9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-7 after a grueling 29-minute baseline battle.
Bermuda's medal tally was further boosted across the older and younger age brackets after intense encounters against top continental seeds:
Boys Under-19 Silver: Eli Carpol fought his way to the prestigious Under-19 showpiece final, but found home favorite Danny Henderson in formidable form. Carpol fell to the British Virgin Islands star 11-2, 11-5, 11-4 in 23 minutes of high-octane action.
Boys Under-11 Bronze: Emerging talent Remy Horsefall locked up a superb third-place finish for the island. Horsefall's main draw run came to an end in the semi-finals, bowing out 8-11, 1-11, 2-11 against Trinidad and Tobago’s clinical Evan Ghuran.
The four-medal haul lays a formidable foundation for Bermuda as they shift their focus toward the highly anticipated team championship draws later this week.
