Bermuda’s Kiwon Waldron secured a highly commendable top-five finish under the Friday night lights, guiding Tell’s Pure Power through a scorching Pace Class event at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
Competing on the ultra-competitive Indiana harness racing circuit, the talented Bermudian driver was forced to call upon every ounce of his tactical acumen in Race 6, navigating a blistering tempo against a stacked field of elite mid-western pacers.
Driving the heavily fancied gelding Tell’s Pure Power, Waldron launched an aggressive bid from the gate, settling into stride as the front-runners set a punishing pace ahead of the backstretch.
As the field rounded the final turn and hit the homestretch, the clock stopping at a rapid 1 minute 52.3 seconds across the mile, Waldron kept his charge perfectly balanced through traffic to cross the wire in a close fifth position.
The sharp clocking marks another highly consistent performance for Waldron on the North American stage, keeping his momentum rolling ahead of a packed weekend schedule at the prestigious Indiana oval.
