Hall shines as Winnipeg Goldeyes crush Lincoln Saltdogs

IslandStats.com
Bermudian standout Adam Hall and his Winnipeg Goldeyes teammates avoided a costly series sweep with an emphatic 8-1 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park.

The versatile infielder proved a constant menace on the base paths, finishing the evening 2-for-6 from the plate while aggressively swiping two stolen bases to keep the pressure firmly on the hosts' defense.

Following four tense, scoreless innings, the Goldeyes finally broke the deadlock in the top of the fifth. Right fielder Max Murphy lined a clinical single to left field, driving in first baseman Roby Enríquez to open the scoring.

Winnipeg rapidly built on their momentum in the sixth. Catcher Kevin García sparked the surge, launching a lead-off home run deep into right field. Minutes later, shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder and third baseman Ramón Bramasco both crossed the plate following a costly Lincoln fielding error on what should have been the final out of the inning.

The Saltdogs issued a brief response in the bottom of the sixth when right fielder Cary Arbolida launched a two-out solo home run to left, but that was as good as it got for the home side.

The Goldeyes comprehensively put the game out of reach with a devastating four-run explosion in the seventh. García collected his second RBI of the night with a bloop single to right to score Keshawn Lynch, before stealing second and scoring himself on back-to-back doubles from T.J. Schofield-Sam and Didder. Bramasco then capped off the ruthless rally, dropping a single into shallow left to plate Didder and secure the 8-1 rout.

On the mound, Winnipeg starter Ryo Kohigashi turned in a spectacular masterclass to earn his first win of the campaign. The elite southpaw dominated across eight clinical innings, surrendering just one run on five hits while racking up eight strikeouts. Reliever Derrick Cherry stepped up in the ninth, ruthlessly retiring the side in order to seal the victory.

It was a complete team performance for the visiting franchise, with every single Goldeyes batter recording at least one hit, and seven celebrating multi-hit games.
