Goldeyes’ Bats Ignite in Pre-Season Rout of Chicago Dogs

IslandStats.com
Adam Hall and his Winnipeg Goldeyes teammates made short work of the hitter-friendly dimensions at Impact Field, dismantling the Chicago Dogs 15-5 in a dominant pre-season display.

The Goldeyes’ lineup feasted on the Rosemont air, racking up fifteen runs in a contest that showcased the depth of their 2026 roster. Rookie catcher Raphaël Pelletier continued his scorching spring form, launching a towering three-run blast in the third inning—his second home run of the pre-season. The power surge didn't stop there, as Roby Enríquez followed suit with a two-run shot of his own in the fourth.

The scoring was a truly collective effort, with all but two Goldeyes in the lineup recording at least one RBI. Ramón Bramasco and Ray-Patrick Didder provided the clinical edge in the later innings, with Bramasco’s two-run single in the fourth and Didder’s eighth-inning double ensuring there would be no route back for the hosts.

Chicago did manage to clear the fences three times, including a pair of long balls from Brian Fuentes, but the deficit proved insurmountable. A solo effort from CJ Cepicky in the ninth was little more than a consolation for the Dogs.

On the mound, right-hander Landen Bourassa—widely tipped to be Winnipeg’s Opening Day starter—delivered a composed two-inning stint to set the tone. He was followed by what fans are calling the "Southpaw Syndicate," as lefties Ryo Kohigashi, Mitchell Lambson, Kevin Vaupel, and Quinn Waterhouse combined to navigate the remaining seven frames.
