The latest round of the Bermuda Ball Hockey season delivered a seventeen-goal extravaganza at the PCC Hockey Rink as Hamilton Princess staged a dramatic comeback before Spine and Sport dominated a high-scoring nightcap.

Hamilton Princess 3 BDA Spirits 2

The opening encounter proved to be a cagey affair initially, with both Hamilton Princess and the BDA Spirits deadlocked after a scoreless first period.

The game burst into life in the second frame when Jean-Michael Tremblay opened the scoring for the Princess following clever work from Mathew Benson. However, the Spirits responded with a quickfire double as Jeff Loper and Ryan Marshall both found the net to turn the game on its head heading into the final interval.

The third period belonged entirely to Mathew Benson. With the Princess trailing and time ticking away, Benson took command of the contest, first leveling the scores after being set up by Richard Campbell. He then capped off a sensational individual performance by scoring an unassisted winner to secure a hard-fought victory for his side.

ACT @ Spine & Sport 8

The evening’s second fixture was a far more open contest as Spine and Sport utilized a potent power play to overwhelm ACT.

Jake Fenske was the standout performer of the night, recording a clinical hat-trick. Spine and Sport established an early two-goal cushion in the first period through Fenske and Rob Osborne, a lead they would never relinquish.

Despite a spirited effort from ACT, led by two goals from Shane Matchett and a strike from Chris Cairns, they were unable to contain a relentless Spine and Sport attack. Curran Trenouth and Christopher Merritt both helped themselves to a pair of goals each, while Kris Abramowski pulled the strings with three assists.

The clinical nature of the Spine and Sport special teams proved the difference, as Fenske converted twice on the man advantage to ensure an emphatic eight-four win at the final whistle.
