The Bermuda Softball League delivered a high-scoring masterclass this weekend as eighty-two runs crossed the plate in a sensational triple-header at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond.
The evening began with a clinical display of power hitting from Platano Power, who brushed aside the Hood Kings in a seventeen-nine victory. While Matty Ingleman provided some resistance for the Kings with a towering home run and two doubles, he was ultimately overshadowed by the relentless Jourdel Galan. Leading the charge for Platano Power, Galan fell just one hit short of a perfect afternoon, finishing four-for-five with two home runs and four runs batted in to ensure an emphatic opening win.
The momentum continued into the second fixture as the Raggamuffins dismantled the Odd Balls fifteen-seven. Despite Adam Fenos providing a glimmer of hope for the Odd Balls with a disciplined three-for-four performance including a home run, the Raggamuffins' efficiency proved decisive. Jade King was the standout performer, maintaining a perfect record at the plate by going three-for-three and driving in three runs to keep the scoreboard ticking over with relentless regularity.
The finale proved to be the most explosive encounter of the day as the Solar Flares overwhelmed Deloitte in a twenty-five-nine rout. Deloitte’s Samson Douglas was nearly flawless, falling just a home run short of the cycle with a double and a triple while driving in five. However, his efforts were eclipsed by a balanced Solar Flares attack led by Carla De Leon. De Leon matched Douglas’s output with five runs batted in of her own, including two doubles, as the Flares utilized their depth to secure the highest score of the weekend and cap off a dominant day for the league’s hitters.
