The Bermuda Softball League exploded into life at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond as a high-scoring triple-header produced a staggering 99 runs on a prolific night of action.
The evening’s most explosive encounter saw the Warriors outlast Major League Barbers in a 29-22 slugfest. Alonni Lugo was the standout for the Warriors, hitting three-for-four with a towering home run and four RBIs. Despite the defeat, the Barbers showcased immense power through Edger Guerrero, who finished four-for-five with a double, two home runs, and five RBIs in a losing cause.
Earlier in the evening, Team Smokey secured a hard-fought 15-12 victory over Bat & Bougie. Makai Steede provided the offensive spark for Smokey, going three-for-five with two RBIs to keep his side ahead. Bat & Bougie remained competitive throughout thanks to the efforts of Mathew Hayward, who finished two-for-four with a pair of RBIs, but they ultimately fell just short as Team Smokey held their nerve in the closing stages.
The final clash of the night proved to be a defensive battle by comparison, as the Raggamuffins edged out Home Nine in an 11-10 nail-biter. John Payne was the hero for the Raggamuffins, driving in three runs on a two-for-four performance that included a crucial home run. His efforts were just enough to offset a monumental individual display from Home Nine’s Jesse Marshall, who finished a perfect three-for-three at the plate with three home runs and four RBIs.
The offensive outburst at Bernard Park serves as an early statement of intent for the league's heavy hitters, with the 99-run total marking one of the most productive nights in recent memory at the Pembroke venue.
