The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League title race has reached a fever pitch at the PCC Hockey Rink, with the latest statistics from Islandstats.com revealing a three-way battle for supremacy at the top of the standings.
Positive Image Dental currently holds the advantage at the summit, sitting on 37 points. They are six points ahead of a relentless ACT side, who boast 31 points, while Alexandra Mosher remains in the conversation just one point adrift in third.
In the race for individual honours, Louis Sujir has been the standout performer for the league leaders. The Positive Image Dental star leads the league in total points with an incredible 48, establishing a significant gap over his nearest rivals. Shane Matchett of ACT sits in second place with 29 points, closely followed by CG’s Jeremy Estey, who has amassed 35 points in a productive individual season.
The battle for the Golden Stick is proving to be a classic encounter between the league's elite marksmen. JM Tremblay of Hamilton Princess currently heads the goal-scoring charts with 23 strikes, holding a slender one-goal lead over the prolific Sujir. Not far behind is Sam Vieira of ACT, whose 20 goals have been instrumental in keeping his side level at the top of the table.
While the attackers have grabbed the headlines, the defensive efforts at the other end of the rink have been equally vital. Derrick Holmes of CG is currently the benchmark for goaltenders, leading the department with a superb 3.04 goals-against average per game. He is pursued by BDA Spirits’ Cedric Thilbault, who maintains a 3.65 average, and Yves Paul of Hamilton Princess, whose 4.19 average rounds out the top three in what has been a testing season for the league's shot-stoppers.
