The Bermuda Softball League season roared into life at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond as a high-scoring triple-header produced a staggering 49 runs on a prolific opening night.
The evening’s most clinical display came from Platano Power, who dismantled the Parquet Flyers in a one-sided 19–8 victory. The centerpiece of their dominant performance was a flawless outing from Henry Barnes, who went five-for-five from the plate. Barnes showcased immense power throughout the contest, launching two home runs and driving in six runs to single-handedly steer his side to an early statement win. Despite the heavy defeat, the Flyers found some consolation in the form of Antoine Adon, who finished three-for-three with a home run of his own.
Earlier in the evening, the Bad News Bears secured a hard-fought 8–4 win over the Oleander Spark Plugs. Conor Lohan was the standout for the Bears, hitting three-for-four with a crucial home run and three RBIs to provide the necessary cushion. The Spark Plugs struggled to find a consistent rhythm against the Bears’ defense, though Triston White remained a bright spark with a two-for-three performance and two runs driven in.
The final clash of the night proved to be a much tighter affair as Kings Hood edged out Asere in a 6–4 battle. Troy Richards provided the defining moment of the game for Hood, making his one hit count by clearing the fences for a two-run home run. Asere fought back valiantly behind the perfect three-for-three hitting of Madeys Floso, but they ultimately fell just short as the Kings held their nerve in the closing stages to complete the night's action.
