Bermudian equestrian Blaire Crews has delivered a string of standout performances at the World Equestrian Center in Florida, making her mark during the Ocala Winter Spectacular VIII. Competing in a high-stakes 4* 2* Under 25 environment, Crews showcased both her versatility and tactical poise across multiple disciplines.
The highlight of her week in the Hunter ring came in the prestigious NHS 3’3” Hamel Medal Class. Facing a formidable field of thirty competitors, Crews and her partner, Gentley, displayed exceptional form. After a strong initial round, the pair demonstrated their technical precision in the flat phase—where riders are judged on their seat, aids, and the horse's responsiveness—to move up the leaderboard and secure a commendable eighth-place finish.
Crews’ success extended into the Jumper divisions, where she proved equally adept at navigating technical courses at speed. Riding Cayden, a five-year-old grandson of the legendary sire Clinton, Crews navigated the Novice .90 Jumper Classic to finish fifth. The result is particularly promising given Cayden’s youth, highlighting Crews’ ability to develop and compete with emerging talent.
However, the pinnacle of the week came in the Young Jumpers II Class. Partnering once again with Gentley, Crews produced a masterclass in efficiency. The pair delivered a flawless clear round, crossing the timers in 73.713 seconds to take the victory.
This latest run of results in Ocala further cements Crews' reputation as one of the region's most exciting young riders as she continues to build momentum in the competitive Florida winter circuit.
