All-Bermuda Semi-Final Highlights Strong Showing at CASA

Day Three of the Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Senior Championships in Guyana delivered a historic result for the Bermudian contingent with an all-Bermuda Men's Individual Semi-Final, followed by a medal-winning performance in the third-place play-off.
The highly anticipated Men's Individual Semi-Final saw two teammates, Micah Franklin and Taylor Carrick, face off for a spot in the final. Franklin proved the stronger player on the day, securing a straight-sets 3-0 victory over Carrick in 30 minutes. Franklin advanced with a scoreline of 11-9, 11-3, 11-1.
Despite the semi-final loss, Taylor Carrick rebounded immediately to secure a medal for Bermuda in the third/fourth place match. Carrick defeated the home player, Daniel Ince from Guyana, in straight sets with a decisive 3-0 win (11-5, 11-6, 11-8) in a 33-minute contest, claiming the bronze medal.
In the Final, Micah Franklin faced the formidable challenge of the number one seed, Khamal Cumberbatch from Barbados. Franklin put up a strong fight, taking a set off the favourite, but ultimately went down 3-1. Cumberbatch won the championship with scores of 11-5, 7-11, 11-4, 11-4.
The results, featuring an all-Bermuda semi-final and a bronze medal, capped a highly successful individual campaign for the Bermuda Men's team at the CASA Championships.
