SCAD Make it 2 from 2 as Bardgett Continues Strong Form

IslandStats.com
The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) regular season is swiftly becoming a showcase for the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Equestrian team, who secured a remarkable second consecutive regional win.

The University of Florida once again hosted the regional competition, bringing together 12 schools all vying for top honours. It proved to be another thrilling day of collegiate equestrian sport, but it was SCAD who maintained their early-season dominance.

SCAD clinched the top spot, earning the title of Champion with a solid 39 points. This victory follows their win in the previous day’s regional opener, establishing the Bees as the early team to beat in the region.

The fight for the Reserve Champion spot was tightly contested, with the University of Central Florida (UCF) ultimately securing second place with 34 points. UCF's strong showing suggests they will be a significant challenger to SCAD throughout the season.

Senior rider Kayla Bardgett was once again instrumental in SCAD’s success. Following her crucial third-place finish in the Open Flat Class the day before, Bardgett delivered another valuable performance in the same event.

The experienced rider finished fifth in the Open Flat Class, contributing essential points to her team's overall score. To secure two top-five finishes in consecutive days in the highly competitive Open Flat discipline highlights Bardgett's consistency and importance to the SCAD squad.

With two regional competitions now complete, SCAD’s maximum haul of victories provides them with a significant early advantage in the race for regional qualification.
