Bermuda Softball League action was dominated by towering home runs and relentless scoring, with a monumental 57 runs crossing the plate across three explosive games at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond.
Platano Power emerged as the undisputed offensive force of the night, securing two high-scoring victories powered by a stunning individual performance from Jorgito Catalino.
Platano Power’s evening began with a comprehensive 16-8 victory over the Ragga Muffins. Catalino was unstoppable at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 that included two home runs and driving in five RBI’s. Not to be overshadowed, the Ragga Muffins’ David Jones also delivered a 4-for-4 performance with two home runs and four RBI’s in the losing effort.
Platano Power carried that momentum straight into their second game against the Southampton Rangers, cruising to a decisive 23-10 win.
Catalino once again led the charge, maintaining his perfect 4-for-4 streak with a double, two more home runs, and four RBI’s. For the Southampton Rangers, Charles Trott was the standout, also going 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBI’s.
The Ragga Muffins were unable to recover in their second outing of the night, falling 12-7 to the Paraquet Flyers.
For the victorious Flyers, Lewis Reynoso drove in three crucial RBI’s on a 2-for-3 night. Despite the loss, the Ragga Muffins found power from David Trott, who also accounted for three RBI’s, hitting one home run on his 2-for-3 performance.
The high-octane offensive displays promise a thrilling contest for the remainder of the Bermuda Softball League season.
