The high-scoring trend of the Bermuda Softball League Fall season continued last night at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond, with a double-header producing a total of 52 runs across two exciting encounters.
The opening match saw the Odd Balls secure a commanding victory, defeating the Slug Pirates 19-6 as 25 runs crossed the plate.
The win was fueled by a huge performance from Dylan Somerville, who was devastating at the plate. Somerville went a perfect 3 for 3 and drove in a phenomenal 7 RBIs for the Odd Balls. For the Slug Pirates, Justin Sasportes also had a flawless hitting night, going 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs, but his team couldn't match the sheer offensive output of the Odd Balls.
The nightcap delivered the tighter contest, with a total of 27 runs scored as Home None edged out The Warriors 15-12.
Craig Munden led the way for Home None, going 3 for 5 with a double and collecting 5 RBIs to help secure the three-run victory. The Warriors put up a strong fight, with Juan Garcia having a standout night at the plate. Garcia went 4 for 5 and registered a double, a home run, and 4 RBIs, but his team ultimately fell just short.
The results cap off another action-packed night that underscores the offensive strength prevalent in the Fall League.
