Equestrian Nick Lopes has concluded his summer season with a series of impressive performances at the Kentucky Horse Park, demonstrating his rising talent on the competitive US circuit. Competing in the KHJA show, Lopes and his two mounts, Aquiles Del Caribe Z and G-STAR, delivered consistent results that hint at a promising future in the sport.
The highlight of the summer came in the prestigious Grand Prix National classes. Riding Aquiles Del Caribe Z, Lopes navigated a challenging course against a field of 38 entries to secure a respectable ninth-place finish in the Welcome Grand Prix. This was a crucial warm-up for his first-ever Grand Prix event. In the Grand Prix itself, a field of 30 top riders, Lopes and Aquiles Del Caribe Z performed admirably, finishing just outside the ribbons in 13th place. The experience of competing at this high level is invaluable for the young rider's development.
Lopes's success was not limited to just one horse. He also competed with his other mount, G-STAR, in the 1.40-1.45M Jr/Am Jumper Division. The pair put in a strong showing, finishing 10th in the main division and a fantastic fifth place in the 1.45M Classic.
