Bermudian equestrian Tyler James has concluded a successful summer on the US circuit, delivering standout performances at both the Tryon International Horse Show and the Kentucky Horse Park.
Riding with team IEC and trainer Wendy Arndt, James showed impressive form with his horses, Cruise Control and Vino Blanco, against deep fields of competitors.
At the Tryon International Horse Show, James and Cruise Control finished third in the USHJA Jump Seat Medal 3’3 Amateur Class, and followed that up with an eighth-place finish in the USHJA National Hunter Derby Junior/Amateur Class. With Vino Blanco, James secured multiple top-six finishes in the Amateur Jumper 1.20m, including a fourth, third, and sixth place, highlighting a consistently high level of performance.
James's success continued at the Kentucky Horse Park. Riding Cruise Control, he finished tenth in the USHJA National Hunter Derby 3’3 Junior/Amateur Class and third in the USHJA Jump Seat Medal Junior/Amateur Class. This third-place finish was particularly significant as it qualified James for the USHJA 3’3 Adult Jump Seat Medal Finals at the Capitol Challenge Horse Show in late September.
His strong showings highlight both the talent of his horses and his own competitive edge, with the upcoming finals providing another opportunity for James to demonstrate his skill on the national stage.
