Bermudian equestrian Nicholas Lopes has once again demonstrated his talent in the showjumping arena, securing a significant victory at the prestigious Kentucky Summer Horse Show in Lexington.
Competing in the 1.45m JR/AM CLASSIC II, held in the renowned Rolex Stadium, Lopes, riding Aquiles Del Caribe Z, delivered a masterful performance. The pair navigated the initial course with precision, clocking a flawless clear round in 73.72 seconds to advance to the jump-off.
In the final round, Lopes and his horse showcased their speed and agility, completing another clear round with an impressive time of 33.01 seconds to claim the victory.
Lopes also competed with his other horse, G-Star, in the same class, finishing in a respectable sixth place. While they finished with a fast time of 73.38, four penalty faults prevented them from challenging for the top spot.
The win adds another notable achievement to Lopes's growing list of accomplishments and highlights his promising career on the international equestrian stage.
