Harness racing driver Kiwon Waldron had a patient, yet demanding, night under the lights at Harrah's Hoosier Park in Indiana, with his two scheduled races taking place late into the card.
Waldron's first outing came in RACE 13, a Trot Class event. Guiding Fiftydallar Tab, the Bermudian secured a respectable third-place finish, clocking a time of 1 minute, 55 and one-fifth seconds (1:55&1). This solid performance came after a considerable wait, demonstrating Waldron's ability to maintain focus throughout the evening.
Shortly after, Waldron was back on the track for RACE 14, also in the Trot Class. This time, partnering with Wiggy Hill, the duo finished seventh, stopping the clock in a time of 1 minute, 56 and three-fifths seconds (1:56&3).
The Trot Class in harness racing involves horses maintaining a diagonal gait, where opposite front and hind legs move in unison. It's a challenging discipline that requires precise control from the driver.
While it was a short card for Waldron in terms of the number of races, his late-night performances underscore the dedication required in the competitive world of harness racing. He will be looking to build on these efforts as he continues his season at Hoosier Park.
