Adam Hall was in the thick of the action, contributing offensively despite his Biloxi Shuckers teammates falling 7-5 to the Birmingham Barons in a series-opener on Tuesday night at Keesler Federal Park.
Despite falling behind 5-0 in the fourth inning, the Shuckers showed resilience, scoring five of the game’s final seven runs in the loss.
Hall's evening began with a pair of strikeouts, striking out swinging in both the bottom of the second and the bottom of the fourth, ending both innings.
However, he made his presence felt in the later stages of the game. In the bottom of the seventh, Hall reached base on a fielding error. He then advanced to second on a Darrien Miller single to right field. Hall's speed proved crucial as he then successfully stole third base, his sixth stolen base in a Biloxi Shuckers uniform this season. An ensuing error on the play allowed Hall to score from third, sparking a Shuckers comeback attempt.
Hall would then get an RBI in the bottom of the eighth, bringing home Mike Boeve on a sacrifice fly to center field, further narrowing the deficit.
While the Shuckers ultimately couldn't complete the comeback, Hall's ability to get on base, run the bases aggressively, and drive in a run highlighted his impactful presence in the lineup. The Biloxi Shuckers will continue their series with the Birmingham Barons, looking to bounce back from the opening defeat.
