Bermuda's promising young squash talents have delivered an impressive haul of four medals on Day Three of the 2025 Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Championships in the Cayman Islands. This strong performance has finally garnered attention from the local print media, following earlier reports by IslandStats.com highlighting the youngsters' progression to the medal rounds.

Leading the charge was Mason Smith, who was crowned the Under 13 Boys Champion. Smith delivered a dominant performance, securing a straight-sets victory over Ethan Bulkan from Guyana with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-5 in a 22-minute final, showcasing his control and maturity beyond his years.

In the same division, Benjamin Sherratt secured a Bronze Medal for Bermuda, defeating Finn Graham from Barbados 11-4, 11-5, 11-7 in a swift 19-minute battle, highlighting the depth of Bermudian talent in the Under 13 category.

Bermuda also claimed a medal in the Under 17 Boys Division, where Owen Rosorea won a Bronze Medal after an all-Bermuda match. Rosorea defeated his teammate William Frith 11-6, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7 in a 28-minute encounter, a testament to the healthy internal competition within the squad.

In the Under 17 Girls 3/4 Playoff, Somers Stevenson battled hard but ultimately went down 11-7, 11-2, 11-6 to Josie Thong from Trinidad, narrowly missing out on a medal.

However, the medal haul continued in the Under 19 Girls Division, where Gabrielle Turchiaro secured a Bronze Medal. Turchiaro defeated Sanjana Nallapati from Jamaica in an 18-minute match-up, winning convincingly 11-3, 11-8, 11-6.

These medal-winning performances underscore the significant progress being made in junior squash development in Bermuda. The young athletes are not only competing, but consistently reaching the podium against strong regional competition, boding well for the future of the sport on the island.
